How many times have you made the decision to get fitter and healtier, only for life to get in the way and saying, I’ll start next month?
Have you ever walked into the gym pumped and motivated only to then have a brain fart about what to do, what to exercise? Which machines to use? How the hell to use them? All those fit people beavering away… Ah hell, I’ll hop on the cross trainer and that’ll do. Then. Never. Go. Back.
You are not on your own. Making the decision to set goals around your health and fitness is a very BRAVE one and one not easy to reach on your own. Gyms are intimidating places after all. We were all newbies once!
The answer? Get yourself a Personal Trainer. Their job is to agree the goals with you and then provide you with the tools and accountability to GET IT DONE. MOtivate you, encourage you, listen to you but most importantly – BELIEVE IN YOU. We are all our own biggest critics – remove the voice in your head telling you you can’t do it and replace it with a voice telling you that not only CAN you, you’ll SMASH it.
MAKE IT A HABIT: Your trainer will help you form a routine making reaching those goals more within reach. It takes 21 days to form a habit – 21 little days! See that – in a month, your training regime will be like your favourite meal – something you look forward to as it makes you feel SO DAMN GOOD!
FRESH PAIR OF EYES: Your trainer will give you a new perspective on health, fitness, nutrition, training – LIFE! We are subsumed with so much information these days on what to eat, how to train, what not to eat – literally millions of sources of information. Your Personal Trainer will translate and interpret all of this for you in to an accessible easy to follow plan. All you have to do is follow it! Good, right?
SOLID, CONSISTENT, NON-JUDGEMENTAL SUPPORT: Your trainer only cares about you and your success. Each hour you spend with them, their focus is YOU and only YOU! They provide out with consistent honest feedback, to hep you better yourself and achieve those all important goals. Most importantly, the trainer is able to do this without making you feel inadequate or judged. We have all gone into the gym and worried about what we look like doing an exercise or compared ourselves to someone else. Trainers don’t judge or derogate. They help you to see all of your successes, big and small, even when you can’t see them yourself. Through this support, trainers will hold you accountable and motivate you, despite your feelings about yourself!
RESULTS- Working with a trainer will allow you to achieve the results that you cannot achieve on your own. Each person’s goals are extremely personal. Whether it be weight loss, injury rehab, or companionship. A trainer is going to develop goals that will lead you down a path to success. As a trainer, I work diligently with each of my clients to help them recognize their results, tangible and intangible, as well as results they never anticipated having. It is these results that not only hold you accountable to me, but they hold me, your trainer, accountable to you!
